Hard Times and Hardware

Hard Times and Hardware

A hardware and a barbershop. Keeping things up and running good, and trying to keep up appearances is still important enough to keep the doors opened at these two small town businesses here along the Illinois River. I think it's great they are there, and hope they last forever. You can bet stepping through those doors is a whole lot different than the modern Walmart experience, in fact, I bet even on Black Friday, if it was crowded there at Frank's a fellow shopper would have held the door opened for you and politely let you in first.
Speaking of Black Friday, I saw where the day after was deemed local Small Business Saturday...what a great idea, in fact, I think every Saturday should be small business Saturday, otherwise there soon might not be small businesses like these left anymore. Im afraid that its hardtimes at the hardware these days, and I hope we can save them before they are all gone. tc
